after party is an improvisational score that is inspired by audience participation. We work with embodying displacement and pleasure amongst the ambiguities of our ethnically mixed identities. after party reckons with the beauty and the complexities of family traditions placed into a party within a performance.

This piece was developed at Headlong Performance Institute Artist-in- Residence 2022 and sponsored by Philadelphia Distillery.

The Sometimes Together Group dance together sometimes. They first met in college and ever since have met up all over the world to dance together.

Mikah is a founder of the Sometimes Together Group with performances at SoLow Fest, Philadelphia, PA 2018; Built on Stilts, Oak Bluffs, MA, 2018, 2019 & 2021; Movement Research Open Performance, New York, NY, 2020; and Lino Kino TV, Philadelphia, PA, 2021.

Performers include Olivia Barnum, Mikah Baumrin-Daniels, Nava Benham, Leah Carrell, Shana Crawford, Julia Crowley, Maria Fernandez Pello, Odessa Jacobs, Aubrey Donisch, George MacLeod, Patricia Mullaney-Loss, Kate Sullivan, and Emma Welch.
